The Customer:

Parkfairfax Condominium

At the beginning of June, 2009, the management team of Parkfairfax Condominium contacted us to find out if we could start managing their three outdoor pools.

The Problem:

Parkfairfax stated numerous failures of previous pool Management Companies to properly manage, train and supervise their staff. Some of the major concerns that the Property Manager expressed were late openings of the facilities, absence of the assigned aquatic coordinator, poor enforcing of pool rules and supervision, unsanitary bathroom conditions and complaints from residents.

Our Solution:

Prior to taking over the management of the swimming pools, the following plan was outlined to ensure implementation of The High Sierra standards of safety:

Supervision and customer service:

  • A dedicated Aquatic Coordinator was assigned only to these three pool facilities. His main responsibility was to visit and supervise each pool at least once a day, and he was to be available 24/7.
  • A Division Safety Inspector was to check on a weekly basis the safety preparedness of each lifeguard.
  • The pools were staffed with 6 fully certified lifeguards possessing NSPF pool operator and CPR certificates. Each of them received a full in-service training for every pool with its specific requirements.
  • Each lifeguard was assigned to work at a single pool until end of the season so the pool patrons see the same lifeguards every day.
  • A Division Service Technician was available 24/7 in case of any technical problem. He performed a follow up on each technical deficiency that the Alexandria Health Department addressed during their inspections.
  • Our Division Manager inspected each of the facilities weekly to make sure the intended plan was being followed accordingly.

  • The Results:

Two weeks after High Sierra took over the management of these three facilities at Parkfairfax Condominium all previous issues were fully resolved. We received a phone call from the General Manager congratulating us for the great success and satisfaction they had been experiencing with our team. The pool management services, the safety and the residents’ satisfaction improved dramatically.

    The Follow-up:

In addition to the excellent management service towards the middle of the summer our Service Department performed a full inspection of all the pool system components including pumps, filters, plumbing and white coat. The Management of Parkfairfax Condominium was advised ahead of time about all repairs needed. This way the managers were able to budget money for the next season and avoid any unexpected cost. All the repairs and renovations were done in a timely manner and with a superb quality.
